I’ll start off by saying that I am about mindfully healing through art. And what does that mean exactly?
Well, beyond having a daily mindfulness practice, for me it is the belief that cinema is my magic. A daily ritual of movie watching saves me from depression and anxiety over and over again. Whether it is sitting in a darkened theater or turning the lights down low in my place and Netflixing it, I cultivate calm by mindfully experiencing movies in all their glory.
By being fully present through a film, I am cultivating a well of calmness within. By cultivating calm in my life through my absolute favorite art form I alleviate depression, anxiety, can sleep better, deal with stress, and establish healthy thought patterns.
And the beauty part is, we can create calm and compassion through all of our daily activities from meditating, eating, walking, reading, writing, lovemaking, working, etc.
The point is to realize deeply we only have the present moment. Mindfulness is a way for someone like me who was at the mercy of their emotions, to feel them and not be controlled by them.
So, here’s where I’ll be sharing daily about mindfulness, meditation, and the power of creativity. These tools are incredibly powerful & should be made more accessible. Rewiring our brains is for everyone!
